Neighbor, 53, Arrested On Suspicion Of Elder Abuse

(CBS) PALM SPRINGS, Calif. A Palm Springs man who threatened a neighbor, saying he would burn her house down, was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse and making a threat, police said Tuesday.

Reynaldo Salas, 52, was arrested in the 100 block of Calle de los Vientos about 3 p.m. Monday, Palm Springs Sgt. Mitch Spike said.

Spike said a woman, 63, who lives nearby told police that Salas had threatened her several times before, and she feared for her safety.

Salas was taken to the Palm Springs Jail and locked up in lieu of $100,000 bail, he said.
