Seniors Choose NOT to Report Incidents of Mistreatment

DOVER –USA Associated Press- State Attorney General Beau Biden's Office is scheduled next week to convene what is being billed as a Senior Summit to focus on abuse of the elderly.Biden's office says the gathering in Dover is intended to educate the public and solicit comments and opinions from seniors, advocates and law enforcement. The state's Adult Protective Services program has received nearly 900 reports of elder abuse this year, that's as many as all of last year.Officials say one of the biggest problems is that many seniors are either not capable or choose not to report incidents of mistreatment.
