Letters to Editor

Ray, I’m very sorry to hear that what your mother is going through. It sounds like we have better laws here in California than you do in Florida . The scenario you relate would not happen in California if there was an interested family member such as yourself advocating for your mother. This type of thing usually only happens to an elder who has no family. Such persons then are subject to the whims of a public guardian. It shouldn’t be happening to you and your mother.
